FTR 2050 rarities: Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary

Updated:

Every card in FTR 2050 has a rarity. It shows on the card and on its catalog page and tells you how often you will meet that vehicle in packs. This guide explains the levels, how they relate to packs and how they help you plan your collection.

How many levels there are

The collection has 4 rarity levels: Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. Each card belongs to a single level, and the level is fixed: it does not change over time.

What rarity means

Rarity describes frequency. A Common card turns up more often, a Legendary card far less often. It is a way of organising the collection, not a rating of the vehicle’s “quality”: a Common card can be your favourite in the whole collection.

  • Common: the base of the collection, the cards you will meet most often.
  • Rare: they appear less often and visibly fill out the album.
  • Epic: harder-to-find cards that make a difference on an album page.
  • Legendary: the rarest level, with the cards you meet least often in packs.

How cards appear in packs

A pack contains 10 cards, each with a different number. The rule by which packs are put together is public, and the proportion of rarities is the same for every collector, over a fixed cycle of cards. The exact details, with the current figures, are published on the How it works page and in the Terms; they come from the platform settings, so they can be updated.

What this means for your collection

Rarity helps you make a plan. You can begin with a realistic goal, such as completing the Common cards of one manufacturer, then move on to the higher levels. The platform can award badges for completing a whole rarity, a manufacturer or an album page.

Rarity and trades

In a trade, rarity is a reference point. There is no mandatory “exchange rate”, because a trade is agreed between two collectors: card for card, never for money. Many collectors prefer to trade within the same level, but the decision is yours.

If nobody has the card you are looking for, you can swap 5 duplicates of the same rarity with the platform for one missing card of that rarity.

Examples from the catalog

Below is a card from each level, so you can see what they look like. Each one has its own page with full specifications.

How to choose your priorities

There is no correct order. Some collectors start with the Common cards, because they want an album that fills quickly. Others go straight for their favourite manufacturer, regardless of rarity. Others chase a specific level because they like the challenge. Choose what suits you: the right goal is the one you enjoy.

Rarity and design

Rarity says nothing about how successful a vehicle’s design is. Many collectors have Common cards they would not swap for anything. It is worth looking at the vehicle sheets, not only at the level: the brand, the model year and the imagined specifications matter just as much to the enjoyment of the collection.

How to read rarity on a card page

On each card page, the rarity appears next to the model year and the fictional brand. You find the same information in the album, where you can follow how much of each level you have completed. If you want to see how it all fits together, open any of the cards above and go through its sheet.

A simple three-step plan

  1. Pick a manufacturer you like and open its page in the Brands section.
  2. Complete its Common cards first, to find your rhythm.
  3. Then move on to the higher levels, trading with other collectors wherever you have duplicates.

This plan is not the only possible one, but it gives you a clear reference point and shows the progress you make from one week to the next.

Frequently asked questions

Can the rarity of a card change?

No. Rarity is set for each card in the series and stays the same.

Is a Legendary card "better" than a Common one?

It is rarer, not necessarily better. Choosing a favourite comes down to the vehicle design and each collector's taste.

Where can I see the exact rarity proportion in a pack?

The rules are published in the Terms and on the How it works page, with the current figures from the platform settings.

Can I complete a whole rarity?

Yes. The platform can award badges for completing all the cards of a rarity, of a manufacturer or of an album page.

Can I trade cards of different rarities?

Yes, if both collectors agree. A trade is card for card, with no money involved.
